Fear Me Dear, For I'am Death

I pretty much like Bands that sing Deathcore music or Hardcore. anything with Screamo init, thats why i love Bring Me The Horizon, so much freedom init.

The songs are scary cos on one song the lyrics say
"Clap your hands to the sound of every first born dying now
Watch this river turn to blood, death will stand were life once stood"

What a negative message, Tray. I hate those kind of bands.
I truly believe people should not buy those messages, it's ok to be critical, expose the world's issues and reflect on what needs to be changed. There are some great political bands that deserve all of our admiration, but when you read lyrics like "you will die, the rivers will turn into bloodddd, DEATH OVER LIFEEEE uohhhh yeah", it makes me sad. It won't do any good to people's attitude.
And hell yes, I deeply believe music and art can change people's views, and help making the world a better place.

I'm not saying all songs must be super upbeat and positive, but from my personal experience and from my beliefs, you will have a much brighter life if you surround yourself by positivity, by interesting people who can push you to be your best.

"all you need is love, love is all you need" > "watch this river turn to blood".

Do you get it?
I sincerely hope this post doesn't lead to another argument, I hope people are mature enough to understand I was just expressing a different point of view, because it really does make me sad to see so many new bands coming out with a dark-commercial image and suicidal lyrics that only serve the trends and most of the times aren't even honest feelings.

I totally agree with everything just said. Although I like some heavy stuff. There are some songs with heavy poetic or artistic influences.

My favourite band? Pink Floyd.

The lyrics are so meaningful.

This song, while it could be classed as emoish. Is actually melodic. It is sung. Not screamed

Quote:

There is no pain, you are receding.
A distant ships smoke on the horizon.
You are only coming through in waves.
Your lips move but I cant hear what youre sayin.
When I was a child I caught a fleeting glimpse,
Out of the corner of my eye.
I turned to look but it was gone.
I cannot put my finger on it now.
The child is grown, the dream is gone.
I have become comfortably numb.

I urge anybody who hasn't heard this song to. It's called Comfortably Numb. The beauty of the melody is amazing.

I listen to this deathcore/screamo/emo music all the time...and im fine.....ish ^_^ i think the lyrics are quite uniqe and most of them are good. my mom does'nt like me listening to it, cos she said these 3 girls listen to this kindda music and they commited suicide cos they were brainwashed. but Lyrics dont do this to people, people do this to people. lol.

Of course is up to people to separate what they read and listen to from their reality, from what their real lives are and mean to them. But everything we do will have an influence on who we are and how we are in life.
Those lyrics add nothing but free pessimism and a dangerous sense of depression, in a way that being depressed turned out to be the cool thing nowadays. And that's what I can't understand and what I don't like.

Anyway, I have a huge list of good bands I listen to, but I'm going to sum it up and name just my top favorite bands:

1) The Beatles
2) The Ramones
3) The Doors
4) The Clash
5) Green Day
6) Pitty
7) Locksley
8) Katy Rose
9) Sublime
10) Alanis Morissette
